We want to welcome Joni Frei, NCAA Division I coach, to our staff!

Joni, originally from Kelowna, BC, brings with her a wealth of knowledge in both playing and coaching in college athletics.  Joni was a four year starter at both short-stop and centerfield for Georgia College & State University and was recognized for a number of academic and athletic awards during her stint including 3 all conference and all region awards.  During her playing days Joni lead her team to a 2nd place finish at the NCAA Division II National Tournament.  She currently holds the record for most home runs, RBI's, walks and runs scored at Georgia College & State University. Joni graduated with a degree in Kinesiology with Teacher Certification and a Master’s degree in Political Science: Public Administration. After College Joni went overseas to Holland and played in the Dutch Softball League. Most recently Joni served as the first assistant for Division I school Mercer University in Macon Georgia.  There Joni was the recruiting coordinator, compliance liaison, hitting coach, outfield coach and defensive coach.  During the two years that Joni was a part of the Mercer coaching staff, Mercer had its best two records in school history including a 41 - 19 season and 2nd place finish at the Atlantic Sun Conference Tournament this past year.  Joni has coached at all levels of softball including this past summer where she was the head coach of the Austrian National Team. Currently Joni is serving as the Director of Softball/Baseball Operations at The Next Level Athlete Development Center, CANPitch Regional Pitching Instructor as well as a Softball B.C. Learning Facilitator and Apprentice Coach for the Senior Women’s National Team.
